Where to Buy Penny Stocks

Choosing a Penny Stock Broker

Where to buy penny stocks. How to choose an online trading broker for buying penny stocks online. Purchase and trade penny stock cheap.

Penny stock investment costs can vary widely depending on which discount stock broker you use to buy and sell them. The commissions charged by discount stock brokers varies from firm to firm.

The best online stock broker is one that will allow you to trade at least some types of pennys for no extra charge (above what you would pay for any other type of stock trade).

One online discount broker will define the term "penny stock" differently from another. They will usually list them as, "Securities trading for X amount of money or less."

Pay attention to this wording. If, like me, you favor the higher priced pennies (above $2 per share) you may find a stock broker who does not charge extra fees for those.

Picking Penny Stock Brokers

There are some questions you need to ask yourself before deciding which internet stock broker to use when trading penny stocks.

Are pennies the only stocks you plan to trade? If not, what percentage of your trades will be penny stock trades?

If only a small percentage of your trading account will be devoted to buying penny stocks, you may be better off choosing an online discount stock broker based on normal (non-penny) trading fees.

If, on the other hand, you plan to trade penny stocks almost exclusively, you would want to compare the penny stock trading fees of several online trading brokers before deciding where to buy penny stocks.

Another consideration when choosing a penny stock broker is what kind of penny stock quotes will they provide you access to? Many penny stocks trade off the Pink Sheets. Not all online trading brokers offer Pink Sheets quotes.

Personally, I don't like to trade off the Pinks so this would not matter to me.

If you plan to trade Pink Sheet stocks, you will want to know if you can do that before you open your trading account. You may have to call the discount stock broker to find this out as online stock brokers don't always include this information on their websites.
