How much money you make from stock photo web sites depends entirely upon how you use them.

Some professional photographers upload pictures to their favorite stock photo sites only when they have time in between better paying assignments. They earn a few hundred dollars per month this way.

3. Taking photos that there is no market for. This is a very common mistake. Find out what is selling before you waste days taking pictures of things that won't.

   You can usually find out what kind of stock photos sell best from the stock photo web sites. Good pictures of things that people who buy stock photos are searching for will sell quickly.

4. Not uploading enough photos to any 1 stock photo site. It takes a lot of images to make enough sales to bring in hundreds of dollars per month. Plan on offering at least 300 images to start. Once you achieve that goal, increase it to 1,000.

   And don't just stick with 1 site either. You can greatly increase the number of stock photos that sell by uploading your library to several stock photography sites.

5. Giving up too soon. Judge nothing before the time.

   Most people will quit if they don't make hundreds within a few weeks. This is a costly mistake.

   It may take time to get the ball rolling downhill. Give yourself time to make mistakes, correct, and move forward with greater success.
