Are At Home Assembly Jobs Legit?

by Sam
(San Antonio, TX)

I keep seeing ads for home assemblers. Most of these companies require that you buy a kit or make a deposit before they will send you their product.

Are at home assembly jobs legit or will I lose any money I send them?

Faith's Answer

I can't promise you that you won't lose your money. Check any company out with the Better Business Bureau before sending any money to them.

I have not worked for any of the companies you're describing personally, but I have done assembly work for local companies. I've written an article about my experiences HERE.

I have researched this opportunity. What I found is that there are some ladies who have worked for a few home assembly companies for years. They say they are being paid and they enjoy the work. I find it hard to believe that anyone would continue working with a company for that long if they weren't being paid.

I also found many disgruntled people who feel that they had been taken advantage of in one way or another by a home assembly company.

The main problem seemed to be that of people having their finished work (usually craft projects)rejected by the home assembly company.

It is possible that their work wasn't as well executed as they felt it was. It is also possible that the home assembly company rejected the products unfairly. Not having seen either the company sample or the products that were sent in by home crafters, I can't possibly say.

My best advice to you is: proceed with caution. If you really want to try home assembly and can afford the fee for the kit, go ahead and try it. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
