Are All Work From Home Opportunities Scams?

My best friend clicked on an online ad that told her she could make $500 a week for stuffing envelopes. Now she's all excited about this. She is planning to sign up with this company.
I think this is a SCAM!
How can I find out if this company is legit? And is there something else she could do from home to really make money? Or are all work from home jobs scams?

I have never looked into the envelope stuffing opportunities, but I am inclined to agree with you about this one. $500 per week is a lot of money to pay someone to stuff envelopes.
Also, why would a company that pays so well need to hire remote employees to stuff their envelopes? For $500 per week I'm sure the locals would be pounding down their door! They would have no need to go to the added expense of running ads and shipping the work all over the country.
This is precisely why I've never bothered to investigate this "opportunity". It smells funny to me. I have always just assumed that high-paying envelope stuffing jobs were scams.
I don't know how you can go about proving that a company is not legit. You could check with the Better Business Bureau for complaints.
One of the easiest things you can do is check online for complaints against them. People who feel they have been taken advantage of will often complain in some online venue.
Type "complaints against + the company name" into a search engine search box and see what you find.
There are a lot of scams in this field but also many, many legitimate opportunities.
Legitamate Work At Home Jobs is a good place to start looking for one.
